How we evaluate products

Every product reviewed on GetHomeFixed goes through the same structured process before publication. No exceptions.

   Product research

   We identify exactly what the guide or product covers — its scope, authorship, claimed methodology, and stated outcomes. We do not rely on the sales page alone; we review the actual content delivered to buyers.

   Claim verification

   We compare what the product promises against what it actually contains. Marketing language is measured against practical deliverability — cost of materials, tools required, skill level needed, and time to completion. Where claims exceed reality, we say so.

   Practical assessment

   We evaluate viability for the average homeowner: what this realistically costs beyond the purchase price, what skill level is genuinely required, and whether the average person with standard tools can execute it. We note where the guide assumes knowledge it doesn't teach.

   User outcome review

   We review documented buyer feedback across multiple sources, looking for consistent outcome patterns — not cherry-picked testimonials. We distinguish between early impressions and long-term results, and flag where feedback is sparse or unreliable.

   Expectation calibration

   Every review includes a realistic assessment of what to expect and what not to expect. We identify which homeowner profiles benefit most and which are less likely to see results. "Who this is not for" guidance is as important as "who this is for."

What we are — and what we are not

• We are not a contractor or licensed professional resource. Nothing on this site constitutes construction advice, engineering guidance, or a substitute for qualified professional assessment. We review guides and products — not specific home projects or structural conditions.
• We are not neutral on quality. We have genuine editorial standards. Products with weak instructions, unrealistic claims, or poor value are described as such. We do not publish reviews that overstate what a guide can deliver.
• We are affiliate-supported. Some links on this site earn us a commission if you make a purchase. This does not change our editorial positions — we apply the same evaluation process regardless of whether a product is monetized.
• We update our content. When product formulations change, new versions are released, or user outcome patterns shift, we revise. Publication dates reflect the most recent editorial review.
